Dogtripping : 25 Rescues, 11 Volunteers, and 3 RVs on Our Canine Cross-Country Adventure
David Rosenfelt
As a huge dog lover and volunteer/foster for a local dog rescue, this book was so enjoyable to read. It was a heartwarming story about people who go out of their way for animals and have such a strong bond with their four legged pets.

The Mountains Sing
Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai
A wonderful book that follows a Vietnamese family over a period of about one hundred years. This fictional narrative is a wonderful way to connect to the beauty, tragedy and history of Vietnam through the eyes of its people.

The Prison Healer
Lynette Noni
Let me just say wow! Lynette Noni does a fantastic job weaving a story of intrigue through her characters, world-building, and overall plot. By the end, you will be left asking for more, but don't fret because the story continues in book two!

The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music
Dave Grohl
Dave Grohl shares the most meaningful and magical moments of his life with humility, fighting spirit, tenacity, intelligence, and creativity. I was a fan of both Nirvana and the Foo Fighters before, but getting to know Mr. Grohl more personally, I am more of a fan of him as a person. If you have any interest in music, the aforementioned bands or the life of a rock star, don’t hesitate to pick up this autobiography- you will not be disappointed!

Sweet Magnolias: Stealing Home
Sherryl Woods
I am currently reading the eighth chapter in this book, and I feel that Sherryl does a great job with telling the readers exactly how the characters are feeling and really expresses that very well. I am also excited to see that the series is on Netflix, so after I'm done reading I plan on watching the show. I would love to see it come to life.

The War in the Dark
Nick Setchfield
A wondrous blend of Cold War spy-thriller and supernatural horror, this novel hit me with adrenaline in the first chapter and never let up! Exhilarating!

The Song of Achilles
Madeline Miller
This book starts from when Patroclus and Achilles were boys all the way up to them being adult men. It is a retelling of the Iliad, and is beautifully retold.

Piranesi
Susanna Clarke
This dreamy and atmospheric novel is great if you love fantasy but are in the mood for something dark and a little different. The less you know going in, the better! The pace gradually increases over the course of the book, and towards the end I couldn't put it down.

Retired yakuza Tatsu is now tackling the dangers of running a household, and he's bringing all of his skillsets to the table in this hilarious manga!
