Who is eligible?
Educators from public, parochial and licensed child-care centers may apply for a Ritter Public Library Educator Card.
I already have a personal Ritter library card. Can I change it to an Educator Card?
Educator Cards have different rules associated with them. You should maintain your personal library card account for items that will not be used in the classroom or day care center.
How do I apply?
Bring authorization form the head of your agency, school or other supervisor using official letterhead. Educator Card applications are available at the library or may be printed from the website.
If you already have a personal Ritter library card, it must be in good standing; no fines or fee can be outstanding to apply for an Educator Card.
Do Educator cards expire?
Educator cards expire on June 30 each year, but may be renewed with the card in person at the library. The card must be in good standing at the time of renewal.
How many items may I check out?
Seventy-five items may be checked out on the Educator Card. Any item from Ritter Public Library will be loaned for 30 days. You may request items from other CLEVNET libraries, however the loan period of the lending library may be different.
What about late fees?
Items belonging to Ritter will not accrue late fees. Items from other CLEVNET libraries may accrue late fees and must be paid. Any item not returned is considered lost and a replacement cost will be attached to the card. It is the responsibility of the cardholder/institution to reimburse the library.
Is my Educator Card accepted at other libraries?
Each CLEVNET library follows its own rules and regulations. If your educator card is not accepted, you have the option to check out another library's materials on your personal card.
