The Ritter Public Library Foundation raises private donations to bridge the gap between state funding and the cost of maintaining Vermilion’s library as one of the best in the region. The Foundation’s goals include: • To support our kids’ literacy and love of reading by developing reading and social skills (e.g. Funded Beanstack, an online program that allows children to participate in summer reading programs). • To improve the library’s technology initiatives and digital collection of books, movies, magazines, music and audiobooks. (e.g. purchased hotspots that allow access to the internet outside the library and funded Ritter’s subscription to hoopla). • To provide cultural and educational programs (e.g. co-sponsored with Friends of the Library the harpist, the Irish musician and the Vermilion Community Band Christmas concerts). • To continue to provide free public meeting space for our youth, civic organizations, art exhibits, music programs and book clubs. (e.g. funded the purchase of a projector and screen for the new Community Engagement Room). There are several ways you can make a donation to The Ritter Public Library Foundation. Gifts of any size are appreciated.
